How long will it take to be certified?

Generally speaking, it takes 75 hours of classroom training. By the time you are finished with our program, you have likely invested more than 100 hours when you consider study time, individual projects and practice time. Upon successful completion of our course, graduates will be awarded a certificate and the title of Certified Hypnotherapist (if you are a licensed medical or mental health practitioner) or Consulting Hypnotist by the National Guild of Hypnotists. At that time, you become a member of the NGH and continuing education is a yearly requirement for NGH membership. The NGH and the New York Hypnosis Training Center offer continuing education opportunities for you to easily fulfill your yearly requirement.

What can I do with my certification?

You can start a new career as a hypnotist when you successfully complete your training. There are many ways in which to use your training. You can offer individual hypnosis sessions for stress, smoking cessation, weight management and more. You can create various materials to sell such as eBooks, hypnosis recordings, hypnosis programs, apps and more. You can offer corporate hypnosis to companies looking for programs to enrich their employees. Some even choose to become stage hypnotists. There are many ways in which to use hypnosis and you can choose one or many of them to create your business.

The training can be a nice supplement to other businesses such as: massage therapy, yoga, reflexology and more. Some businesses choose to use it as a separate service and others incorporate it into their present services.

If you are already a professional, you can add new skills to your existing work. The New York Hypnosis Training Center has proudly trained doctors of chiropractic, social workers, psychologists, nurses, doctors, therapists and more to effectively utilize hypnosis with their clients. Do I need a license to be a hypnotist?

Hypnotism and Neuro-Linguistic Programming are not licensed professions in New York States and in most states. Therefore, it benefits you to have the best training you can receive when presenting your new skills to the public as a business. The New York Hypnosis Training Center uses the National Guild of Hypnotists curriculum and Carol Denicker is a certified instructor for the National Guild of Hypnotists. With her extensive experience, she also provides students with supplemental material she acquired as a professional hypnotist. As a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, you have access to information about current legislation and other relevant topics to the field.

What is the National Guild of Hypnotists?

The National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH), with over 12,000 members worldwide, is the oldest, largest and most prestigious hypnosis certifying organization. It offers two educational conferences annually, a lending library of videos and audio recordings, referrals, legislative support, regular local chapter meetings, multiple continuing education opportunities and much more. The New York Hypnosis Training Center certification will include the first year membership to the NGH.
